This book was one of the best books I ever read. I totally recommend it to confident 4th and 5th graders. This book takes place in modern times. Firestar, leader of ThunderClan, has found that StarClan, a group of spiritual cats who guide the Clans, has lied. So, Firestar and his mate Sandstorm go on a journey to set things right. The journey includes a flood that separates the journeyers and helpful cats who feed them. Finally, they reach their destination: a gorge home to an old cat who tells stories about a Clan of his ancestors, SkyClan. Together they try to rebuild SkyClan with kittypets and rouges. After a few weeks of recruiting, they start training. Three months after SkyClan was restored, they find a problem: rats! The rats were the reason the first SkyClan disbanded, and they plan to do it again. Who will win the battle? And at what cost? After the victory against the rats, a leader is found: a cat called Leafdapple. After the ceremony, Firestar and Sandstorm leave SkyClan to return to ThunderClan. That's the story.

I would recommend THE THRONE OF FIRE to everybody ages 9 and up. It is the 2nd book in the series, the first one is THE RED PYRAMID. This book is very fast speed. The style for me is clear, but for others it could be difficult because of the content and Egyptian words. Otherwise the book is put together beautifully and it flows beautifully. There are 2 kids that are trying to save the world from this evil snake Apohis "who wants to plunge the world into complete darkness by swallowing the sun god Ra and then the sun." With the help of the gods he can be stopped but not everyone wants to stop Apohis.

I thought it was pretty good because it was really specific so you could actually imagine and understand it. Jack and Annie had to get the Ice Wizard's eye back, and they did it. There was a frost giant and two white wolves, but the wolves were actually Merlin and Morgan. Merlin and Morgan were under a spell, and the wizard said if they got the eye back, then they would get to know what happened to Merlin and Morgan. The wizard said, "Don't go too close to the wolves, or they will eat you." But he lied. The wolves were chasing after Jack and Annie and Teddy and Kathleen (they were helping, too) actually to help them. The wizard knew that, but he didn't want them to figure it out before their quest. Jack and Annie snuck into the Frost Giant's cave and got it, and then they snuck out and gave it to the wizard.
